How do Super-Bands™ change the gameplay?

Measure an existing ring

Installation of Super-Bands™ and Super-Rings™

Replacement is possible at many installation points using standard tools. However, since plastics, ramps, or other playfield components often need to be removed for a complete rubber replacement, you should proceed systematically.

Turn off the pinball machine

Before beginning any work, the pinball machine must be completely turned off and unplugged from the power source. This applies even if you’re only replacing a single rubber ring on the playfield.

Document the playfield

Before removal, it is recommended to take several photos of the playfield from different angles. This will help you later determine which ring was mounted in which position and how it was routed over the posts.

Proceed step by step

Do Not Damage the Rings with Tools

Cleaning and Maintenance

For routine cleaning, a soft, dry, or slightly damp microfiber cloth is often sufficient. The rings can be removed and wiped down separately if necessary.

Even durable polyurethane components do not last indefinitely. The actual service life depends on the installation location, the number of games played, the ring’s stretch, the condition of the pinball balls, and the general maintenance of the machine.

Replacement should be performed if:

• cracks or cuts are visible,
• the ring is permanently deformed,
• the surface has been significantly damaged,
• the ring no longer sits securely in its position,
• the rebound behavior has noticeably changed,
• or there is severe discoloration or material degradation.

Positions subject to particularly heavy wear, such as slingshots and flipper fingers, should be inspected more frequently than rings in less active areas of the playfield.

Damaged pinball balls increase wear and tear

The condition of the pinball balls affects nearly all parts of the playfield. Rusty, rough, or damaged balls can not only put a strain on the playfield and plastic ramps but also place greater stress on rubber and polyurethane components.

Balls should therefore be checked regularly for the following signs:

• rust spots,
• dull or rough surfaces,
• small indentations,
• scratches and chips,

Can classic rubber rings and Super-Rings™ be combined?

A pinball machine does not have to be completely converted to polyurethane. Classic rubber rings and Super-Rings™ can generally be combined in different areas of the playfield.
